[ if you’re lucky, you’ve never heard this voice before. if you have, you’ll probably notice that he seems considerably less grouchy than he did making his greeting rounds in springstar and highstorm. tony has had time to settle in, and more importantly, he’s made some big decisions about what side he wants to support here.
…for now, at least, which is the quiet motivation behind his demanding communion. he seems utterly at home invading people’s minds, and there’s the sense of him stretching out like he’s been here the whole time and was just waiting for you to get home. ]
People here are from all different worlds, right?
[ rhetorical question, and he continues. ]
I want to hear from whoever’s been to Terra. The third planet in the Sol System. I know some of you call it Earth—the fact that you have a name for it means that you know about it. [ a pause. ] I’ll torture the knowledge out of you if I have to, but it’s easier for everyone if you just cough it up.
[ that seems to be the end of that, unless you’re a zenite, to which he then narrows his focus. ]
…sorry if you heard me say I want all the humans to die. I know we have to work together.

[ There's still traces of that insufferable smug, extremely punchable smirk in his voice, but Gen does dial down the sarcasm a touch. ]
Allies are allies. I ain't picky. [ Gestures at Silco. And Sebastian. Etc. ] Don't go getting all sensitive, yeah? A noble, superior person like yourself should have a little more patience with us pathetic humans. Isn't that what teamwork means? [ Hm. ]

[ that’s more like it, tony thinks.
and gen is once again right besides. although tony thinks he’s better than everyone else around him, the fact is that even he didn’t do everything alone back among the mu. he had his friends, who were all just as powerful as he is. things are different here, even if he’s trying hard not to think about those differences. ]
I’m only on a team with people who can keep up with me. The rest of you are support.
[ it only took him five minutes to completely evaporate any meaning in his apology, but gen has annoyed him enough. ]

But that sentiment remains as just a low simmer of something sly and narrow-eyed at the back of his mind. Don't worry about it, Tony! Just focus on the way Gen briskly closes off their psychic connection to something private so he can bring up a slightly more productive subject, instead. ]
Yeah, yeah, sure. [ Not at all sincerely. ] But in order for us lowly humans to not get in the way of someone as incredible as you, we gotta know what you can even do, yeah? What's an amazing person like you capable of?
[ He's going to bust a gut laughing if this guy's actually just some delusional normie. ]

[ said with the smug satisfaction of someone who is in dire need of getting their ass beat. ]
To make it simple, I can do almost anything with my psionics. The human mind is my playground. I could make someone believe their body is turning inside out… or I could do it for real, if they really deserved it.
[ he could do all these things, but critically, he never has—his kill count up to now has been quite dissociated from the realities of the physical form. ]

Is that the kinda shit you were talking about when you threatened to torture everyone here for fun?
no subject
It wasn’t for fun. You’re all just lucky that it turns out I don’t need to.
[ he’s wondered, at times, if he’s unique even among the other children of nazca. his brethren seem so young to him, and their idle talk of mutiny just sounds like childish giggling. tony feels—worries, maybe—that he’s the only one who actually has thoughts like he’s voiced today. even the responses he’s received here, in his mind…
not everyone, but enough people are acting like he’s crazy that he’s inclined to think the problem is his after all. ]
