…for now, at least, which is the quiet motivation behind his demanding communion. he seems utterly at home invading people’s minds, and there’s the sense of him stretching out like he’s been here the whole time and was just waiting for you to get home. ]

I want to hear from whoever’s been to Terra. The third planet in the Sol System. I know some of you call it Earth—the fact that you have a name for it means that you know about it. [ that seems to be the end of that, unless you’re a zenite, to which he then narrows his focus. ]

[ There's a level of discomfort in having his mind invaded, but it's a risk that comes with Communion, as Akechi has heard. It's not as if the concept of peering into a person's heart is foreign to him, either, though usually he's the one doing the raiding.

[ Time for a little retaliation, and though it's his first time trying to do so through Communion, a fellow Iconoclast would have little luck trying to block his induced berserk mode, courtesy of Call of Chaos. Ah, waiting to see what kind of effect his power would take has always been the fun part...

[ being a type-blue, tony isn’t used to people responding with psychic attacks, and he’s most certainly not used to it actually working. he’s aware something has been used against him, but his defenses come up too late and it’s already rattling around inside his mind. ]

the only small mercy is that he has the wherewithal to shut down and make the connection private between the two of them, so no one else can feel him getting publicly humiliated. ]

[ Whether it's through Communion or maybe a shared wall -- hello, Zenith headquarters -- Tony can very likely hear Akechi's laugh from the other side, maniacal and unbound, but in genuine fun no matter how messed up. Ah, how he missed this. ]

[ But once his fits of GLORIOUS PSYCHOTIC JOY begin to subside and his presence grows red as infernal flames, his voice drops to a hiss. ]

he could probably seek akechi out his psychic scent, but he’s rattled enough to not want to leave his room. this, he didn’t expect. he’s never faced the hatred a human might have for a mu, even knowing it exists, and he could have never anticipated a human—is he human?—having a way to retaliate. ]

[ Oh, this one truly doesn't learn his lesson, does he? But rather than feel threatened, Akechi is just thoroughly amused, his laugh echoing again as a lower thrum. ]

[ New grudge successfully acquired? In any case, Akechi is used to working with people who dislike him for the sake of a greater cause, and this war they find themselves in surely qualifies, so he'll extend an olive branch... in his own way, of course. ]

Regardless, for as long as we fight on the same side, I have no reason to target you-- if you do not hold us back. So do try not to sound like a third rate villain from an afternoon show and give powerful Meridians a reason to stay alert.

[ something foreign is still reverberating around in his mind, making his hair stand on end and leaving him more desperate than usual not to be alone, but he’ll just pace until he can work it off. maybe he’ll fly off and destroy something when this conversation is done, but he refuses to let this random guy have the last word.

[ Maybe Tony should ask about TV shows from Earth instead of threatening. Akechi could even give him a (lame) cool villain codename from Phoenix Ranger Featherman. ]

Is keeping a low profile something you can do? Because all this Communion does is to provide solid evidence otherwise.

[ tony is shaking off that random blast of energy, and the unpleasant sensation is honestly leaving him in a worse mood than being hit in the first place. every word he sends akechi’s way is—not quite like daggers, but the sensation of some persistent flick, like he’s tossing pebbles just to irritate akechi’s mental space. ]

I can. I could erase everyone’s memory of this conversation if I wanted to, but I don’t. Now people know what they’re up against.

[ A loud, mental sigh is no longer enough; Akechi needs to go for the full, mental dragging hand down his face. He truly is surrounded by absolute fools!! ]

Aside from the many, many variables you neglect to account for, the fact remains that your openly vainglorious act is only good for keeping the enemy alert and ready. Any Zenites with two functioning brain cells will know better than to trust you with any plans that rely on subterfuge.

[ hmm… he didn’t listen to most of that. he could get the gist of the lecture, but he could also sense that a good majority of those words didn’t matter. ]

Yeah, yeah. Either they’ll ask for my help or they won’t. I don’t care.

[ since he’s not extremely invested in what’s going on just yet, in a way, it really doesn’t matter to him what happens—whether zenith wins or loses, he figures he’ll be able to find a way to get what he wants. so if they don’t want his help, he’ll just fly solo with their power keeping him afloat. ]

It is not your help that I'm concerned with. It's how much of a liability you might be to the rest of us, regardless of whether or not your aid is wanted or even welcome.

That aside, your personal dedication to the cause isn't any of my business. As long as you stick to your guns and keep your mouth shut, we won't run into trouble.
