[D's communion into Meridian aligned minds is like a very polite knock at the door, except when the door is finally opened, a rush of icy wind blows in. No warmth or mirth can be found in the space of his mind, though it's a surprisingly gentle, dark void despite the chill. It's familiar for anyone who has had a communion with him, but probably kind of eerie for those who haven't.

I made an attempt to Reincarnate the late Tribune. [He delivers this all very clinically, very factual.] It failed, but not because he hadn't been willing.

Something else had been inside him. [Can Nothing be something?] It had cleaned his soul out, if he had one at all, and left him as a husk. There was no soul to shift into another body.

It spoke through him. It said, "We never would have been able to Enter without the Choices that have been made."

Potentially. Not only for the politics, but also after finding Cyrus's body the way I did.

True on both counts. If we're to fight a war like this... we're going to want someone we believe we can rely on.

Those kinds of areas aren't my specialty.

You at least know what to look for? It won't hurt to listen to what everyone is saying once others try to move in on the open position.

Not many were happy with Zenith leniency, or the lack of offense before. After what happened recently, Springstar seems willing to get someone who will put up more of a fight.

Yes. I was a king. I can deal with competing power groups and different needs and wants... but I'll need time. I admit I haven't paid too much attention to the local political scene.

You don't have to get involved in things, but your experience might help keep things from disolving into chaos.

I'd like to make sure the city stays safe for it's inhabitants. Although perhaps we're too late on that count...

It's alright. Lapses in the fortification doesn't mean it can't be made stronger.

Maybe whoever takes Cyrus's place would be interested in a small council under them for advice.

That might be worth suggesting, in all honesty. I'd like to have more say in what we as shard-bearers do rather than relying on mysterious calls to action.
