Communion | OTA.
[Is it cold in here all of a sudden? No, that's just Jade's first attempt at opening a line of Communion to the people of Springstar. Instead, it ends up going out to whoever is willing to listen as she's still trying to get a handle on this method of communication.
[Her presence is like freezing saltwaters, with the scent of sea and earth.]
Blazes. It still blows my mind that you people use Psionics to talk to each other here.
[As someone who's pretty adept in Psionics herself, it should be normal, but not like this.]
Anyways, in light of the absolute shit timing of my arrival... I need an outlet. By now I think I've learned the streets of this city well enough to navigate my way around. Buuut I'm looking for some obscure, holes-in-the-wall kinda places or favorite establishments to get a drink at and relax.
Don't think I need to explain why.
Also any tips on how to procure a home would be nice. Think I'm starting to get on the nerves of some of the folks living in the barracks... thing.
[Hi Meridian. Sorry you're stuck with this natural disaster of a woman.]

[Hi Meridian. Sorry you're stuck with this natural disaster of a woman.]

[Spoken from actual experience during her life in her home country, and the earlier days when she first washed up on a new one where she had no friends, family, or connections. She was rather surprised at how willing Endraleans were to do business with her kind, that they'd even sell her a small house.
[Jade is quiet for a moment, thinking. She hadn't much considered the possibility of sharing a space with someone again.]
You'd be okay with that? Even with my "condition"?
[Well, at least Alice has an inkling of what she's signing up for.]
no subject
[Alice pauses a moment as well, considering how she ought to explain herself here.]
I have served in the military for several years now. My country went through a prolonged war with a neighboring country. The aftermath has led me to encounter many people with differing conditions as well.
[There's the slight feeling of flustering warmth through Alice's communion. She's blushing a bit it seems.]
I can certainly promise you I won't batter in anymore doors at the very least.
no subject
[Jade thinks on Alice's words a little more. She knew a bit about her military background, but didn't ask for specificities. Heck, Jade herself was a refugee of civil war, before her former countrymen decided to invade the land she had fled to.
[But still. There's solace in knowing that there's someone who at least Gets It.]
Pff, no worries. At least it'd give me more opportunities to work on my door installment skills.
[Another pause.]
But really, I... think I'd like that. I was thinking of just finding a place to myself, but having a familiar face to share it with doesn't sound half bad.
[After all, Jade wasn't always the lone wolf. It's just that her companions have a way of dying or leaving her -- or Jade leaving them for whatever reasons she had.]
no subject
Agreed. The list of familiar faces does grow throughout the day but I do believe you and I have a few things in common as well. We're the same aspect I think?
[Or are her feelings off? She's still not so sure how Aspects work precisely but --]
It's ... a feeling, at least.
[Or at least she thinks she feels some things a little sharper with Jade?]
no subject
[Until Alice mentions their Aspects.]
I'm... not sure, honestly? I haven't been able to find where this "Aspect" of mine is. Heck, I couldn't even tell you what my "Shard" looks like.
[The perils of having them located in places where she can't easily see, or hasn't really thought about it much to look for them. Jade gets the vibes, but that's nothing new to her -- she just chalked it up to her usual intuition.]
no subject
I do know my Shard is in my chest, right above my heart.
[Look at her broadcasting this and apparently not having any fear in doing so?]
My aspect ... I believe I saw it once. I'm not sure what the symbol means however. I had heard different aspects interacted differently but honestly I only know similar aspects can communion easier.
[She pauses again before she admits a little flatly:]
The whole business makes my head hurt to be honest with you.
no subject
[Even if she's a pretty decent Psionicist, such clear telepathy wasn't part of the package she signed up for during her little "meditation" sessions.]
But it's not like I've actively made an effort to look for them, either. Or if it even matters?
no subject
[... Ah, well.]
I'm afraid I don't know just how it is though.
[Like with a lot of the magic stuff here Alice is just all ????]
no subject
[Jade might be more familiar with it, but she still only just tapped into her own magic some months ago. So...]
no subject
[She sounds like she does anyhow.]
no subject
[People were greeting her as the "prodigy" before "Prophetess" started catching on. But Jade is fond of neither of those titles, so she opts to keep those nuggets to herself for now.]
I wasn't always "magically gifted", but... something happened, and I've developed a knack for it over the past several moons. Now that I'm Harmonized, I guess I'll be putting some of that to good use again.
no subject
I see. I've never given much thought to the application of magic given I've never experienced it myself ... though I suppose here it might be possible.
[Obviously she's yet to discover any of the abilities she gained through Harmonizing. She does laugh lightly though.]
When I was a child I loved reading stories of knights and sorcery and such.
no subject
[
And not just because books are a game mechanic for leveling up those skillswhat. Sure is meta here all of a sudden.]I didn't read many stories like that when I was younger, myself... Though magic isn't very well received in most parts of the "Civilized World". [One can practically hear the quotations, because she hates that it's legit called that.] Heck, it's outright banned in my country's Middlerealm.
no subject
[Then again ... she mulls on it.]
I suppose what I read as a child is far more fantastical but if magic were quite powerful then I could see why it was banned.
no subject
Of course, I was never afraid so much as wary of it at first. But I also wasn't born with magic, despite being half-Aeterna and my mother a decent Thaumaturgist.
[Still, between people's fear of magic and her mother's kind, Jade hated how much that fear kept them trapped on her father's farm.]
no subject
It must have been a shock to gain magic then.
no subject
I mean... Literally. When I suddenly started shooting sparks from my fingers.
[A quiet laugh.]
But, to put it mildly... yeah. Especially since it was killing me. Had to go through a ritual to help contain it, though I still have the Fever to contend with if I don't wanna keel over without warning. Smoking helps reduce the symptoms, though I don't think the local stuff is as effective as where I'm from.
no subject
I've heard sometimes the Acolytes of the Church can bring things out of the Timestream for people. If you talk to Cetina, that is. Perhaps they could help you get some of the stuff you typically use from your own world? If they can bring weapons and animals I don't see why they couldn't bring that over as well.
no subject
[sigh]
But if it's necessary, I guess it can't hurt to swing by and ask.
[If she can suck it up and make drug deals with self-proclaimed gods, she can do this for her own health.]
