[Open] Zenith Locked
[Anakin has taken his time in reaching out to others, partially because he doesn't really like the idea of communion and partially because of his desire to remain detached, but he knows that isn't feasible. He's heard all of the warnings about the war coming to an end soon, and about the need for action...but committing to that is not something he's willing to do just yet. However he still wants to be of some help, and in a sudden, snap decision he just...does it.
His mental voice falters briefly, almost as though he's thinking better of it, but when he does speak up it's in a confident, clear tone. He's used to public speaking, at least, even if this is a little weird.]
Good afternoon. I have been remiss in introducing myself to the rest of you. My name is Anakin Skywalker, Jedi Knight and General of the Grand Army of the Galactic Republic. I've recently arrived and I've been slowly taking things in. I have a few questions, and an offer I'd like to put on the table.
[His thoughts slow, and are accompanied by images of a long stone room with a shallow, sandy floor. A training room.]
The offer first. I have trained many men and women in my unit in self-defense, and I've had an apprentice Jedi up until very recently. I've come to understand that many of you come from civilian backgrounds. If you would like to learn how to fight, or you'd like to brush up on things, particularly when it comes to swordsmanship, please seek me out.
[He pauses to let that sink in before going on.]
Secondly, the questions. I'm curious what made you choose Zenith to give your allegiance? And I would also ask what would make you change your mind? I am not intending to question anyone's loyalties or allegiances except possibly my own, I just would like to understand why you've made the choice you did. It may help me frame my own thoughts better.
Thank you for your time and your thoughts.
[His thoughts quiet then, waiting for responses.]

[ It’s easy to hear the grin in his voice, because Tezcatlipoca doesn’t exactly respect titles. Or at least not in any normal way. Whether they’re a general or a guy that was recruited yesterday, he holds them to a notion of equality, since they would end up meeting him one day all the same. However, he does hold the ranks to slightly higher expectations…
Luckily, that’s not what he gets into, since the question Anakin asks is a better one. He’s caught a little off guard by it. ]
Is there? I mean, there’s variation in what gods do or how they might conduct themselves, sure, but god as a concept?
[ Man. The worlds represented here get weird. (Incorrect, his world is the weird one.) ]
But fine, sure, I’ll give ya the rundown. Powerful and divine beings who can make “miracles” happen as easy as breathin’. Lots of different things they could do, but personally? I’m the almighty deity of the lands I oversaw. Created worlds. Destroyed ‘em too. Was the sun itself for a bit, but the gig didn’t pan out, so I’ve taken up conflict as my mainstay.

Of course, what he's saying is weird. He's not going to question it, but there's been a lot of talk about faith and gods here, and he just thinks that is unusual. He can't help but comment a bit on some of it though, because it seems so outlandish.]
That all sounds very...forgive me for saying...fanciful. You mean that you were literally the sun for a time? That certainly seems very handy to have on our side.
[That being said...]
And you said that Meridian has a being like yourself?

[ He asks, but it’s a rhetorical question, since with a laugh, he continues. ]
Yeah, bein’ a god is kinda fanciful. Ain’t a wrong way to put it. If you ain’t from a place where this makes any sense to ya, it’s gonna be a bitch and a half to explain, so don’t worry about it. All that matters is that gods are powerful and wise. And I don’t mean “wise” in the sense of braggin’, I mean it in the sense of bein’ timeless beings that have seen and done a lot.
[ He pauses in consideration, since the truth of the matter for him might be a little overwhelming, so he decides to go the roundabout way. ]
Meridian’s got Set, the god of war from Egypt, yeah. Can’t speak for his exact experiences, since I don’t know ‘em, but personally? I’ve got tens of millions of years on my side. Least how humans measure time, anyways.

[Still, Anakin nods respectfully. He is well aware that there are different universes at work here, and the truisms of the Galaxy Far Far Away may not hold here.]
Set is someone to be careful around, then. I assume when the fighting breaks out, if it breaks out, that you'll be a match for him?
no subject
Oh, yeah. Like, he’ll be chatty with you, since we’re definitely the same in that. All this faction stuff, it’s kinda beneath us. But when push comes to shove? Yeah, he’s dangerous. I am too.
[ …Anakin’s question, though. He will not mention that Set already snapped him in half (literal) and dissipated him. ]
As far as I know, I’m the best match for him, yeah. Brute strength ain’t my forte, but don’t have to be. Just one shot or two and you’re good, and guns ain’t his forte.
[ …Not yet, anyways. Don’t worry about it. ]

You're more practiced with firearms than he is? I suppose that's something. Assuming you have access to them here, anyway.
[Which, actually, good question.]
What kind of weaponry does this world even have? I've acquired a sword, and that should be alright for now. But I'm used to fighting with more advanced things.
